This is a recurve bow that made of wood and leather.
Bows were important weapons of war from ancient history until the early modern period. During the Middle Ages recurve bows were used almost everywhere but they spread to Egypt and much of Asia in the second millennium BC.
This kind of bow is still made and used by bowyers, amateurs, and professional archers.
