This is a rich Varangian (Swedish viking) man from the 11th century. He is wearing a long-sleeved blue upper clothing, a belt with pouch and a simple, brown wool pants. He is holding a shield and wielding a sword.
The Vikings were seafaring Norse people from Scandinavia who raided and traded across Europe from the 8th to 11th centuries. It was a requirement that all Viking men complete weapons training so they could defend their villages during attacks. This means this character could be used both as a soldier or as a wealthier town / country resident.
